How do I merge duplicate tickets in Kora?

Updated Oct 21, 2026

When the same issue arrives twice, merge them: open one of the tickets, choose Merge from the actions, and select the ticket that should survive. The source ticket is closed and marked as merged into the target — its comments and activity stay readable for the audit trail. Merging is free. The surviving ticket fires the ticket-merged automation trigger, and the closed source ticket fires a status-changed trigger.

Good to know

  • Merges are one-directional: pick the ticket with the better history as the survivor.

  • Automation rules can react to merges: the surviving ticket fires the ticket-merged trigger.

  • The public API supports merges too — POST /public/v1/tickets/:id/merge.

Common questions

Does merging cost credits?

No. Merging is free.

Can I undo a merge?

Merges are one-directional, so choose the ticket with the better history as the survivor. The source ticket stays readable for the audit trail.

Is there an API for merging?

Yes. POST /public/v1/tickets/:id/merge merges a ticket through the public API.
