How do Kora credits work? What costs credits and what's free

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Credits are pre-paid and only spend on creation: 1 per ticket created, 1 per AI Analyst answer, 1 per published help center article (once), 1 per 400 public API responses, and 2 per 2 GB of stored files per month. Commenting, resolving, assigning, automation, SLA, team members, and reading anything are free. The wallet can overdraft to −10 so a customer ticket never bounces while you're topping up.

Lifecycle

  • Signup: 1,100 free credits (1,000 expire in 30 days, 100 last 10 years) — claim both from the dashboard popups.

  • Top-ups: from $5, credits last 10 years, first recharge gets +30% bonus.

  • Spending order: earliest-expiring grant first, automatically.

A worked example

A team that creates 300 tickets and asks the AI Analyst 100 questions in a month spends 400 credits, which is $40 (300 × $0.10 + 100 × $0.10). Seats, comments, SLA tracking, automation rules and AI ticket structuring add nothing to that total.

What happens when credits run out

The wallet can go as low as −10 credits, so a customer ticket is never bounced while you top up. Below that, creating tickets and asking the AI Analyst return a 402 error until you add credits. Reading and everything else keep working.

Common questions

Do credits expire?

Signup credits come in two grants: 1,000 credits that expire 30 days after you claim them and 100 credits that last 10 years. Credits you buy are valid for 10 years.

Which credits are spent first?

The earliest-expiring grant is spent first, automatically, so promo credits are used before long-lived ones.

Are prices shown with tax?

Prices exclude tax. Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for purchases.
